April 14 1931 at 8:00pm a group of 22 x-ray technicians met in a borrowed office space at 711 Boylston Street in Boston, MA to discuss the forming of a society. The group formed in response to perceived socio-economic concerns facing “technicians” of the time, the need to keep up-to-date with radiographic techniques, equipment and procedures and to promote the study and application of radiologic techniques. The Boston Society of Radiographers (BSR)* was incorporated in Boston on May 8 1931. An affiliation agreement with the American Association of Radiological Technicians was signed on May 8, 1931. The first official meeting after incorporation was held on June 9, 1931 at 652 Huntington Avenue in Boston, Massachusetts
