The Massachusetts regulations for Mammography Facilities 105 CMR 127.000, are currently in the process of revision by the Radiation Control Program (RCP).
On Thursday October 20th, RCP presented a proposal to revise the current MA regulations on to the Department of Public Health (DPH), Public Health Council (PHC). The proposed revised regulations are available for your review and are open for public comment. The DPH will hold a hearing on Thursday December 1, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in the Public Health Council Room, Second Floor, Department of Public Health, 250 Washington Street, Boston, Massachusetts.
The MSRT is conducting a review of the proposed revisions and will prepare comments on the changes at the hearing. We encourage you all to send your feedback to the MSRT and to submit your own comments to the DPH following the process defined in the hearing notice.
We are still waiting for the final vote to be scheduled by the Department of Public Health on the revision to the Radiologic Technologist licensing regulations (105 CMR 125.000). The next meeting of the PHC is on Wednesday, November 9th. We can only hope that we will be able to celebrate NRTW with the approval of these revised regulations!
We wish you all a Happy National Radiologic Technology Week and look forward to hearing your comments.
